On Sunday, April 26th at 1:00 pm Bath Township Historical Society will present Hammond’s Corners Heritage Tour. The tour will begin inside Garth Andrew’s Store with a half-hour power point of the history of Hammond’s Corners presented by a former resident. This will be followed by a walking tour of the heritage cross roads. If the weather is inclement the entire program will be presented inside Garth Andrew’s store.
Twelve historical interpreters will present characterizations of people that had lived in this hamlet. Everyone is invited to this free historical adventure in which you will discover how Hammond’s Corners played a major role in the early days of Bath Township’s development. Hammond’s Corners commercial center was established in the decade beginning in 1830. By 1840 homes, barns, buggy shop, general store, school and church were the core of this local community.
